Three days of Int. Snowkite Open are now coming to an end. Although the conditions were not optimal, the participants and spectators got exciting races and a spectacular show of the freestylers.
Today at the Int. Snowkite Open we had Freestyle and Course Race with over 60 participants. The weather god played games with us and sent us all kinds of weather, such as rain, snowfall, fog and sunshine.
More than 40 riders from Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Germany and Spain arrived today at Lake Reschen for the first competition of the Int. Snowkite Open. Day 1 was all about Long Distance Racing. After the contestants got excited about 20 cm of fresh snow on Tuesday the conditions appeared more challenging today. Sleet turned the snow into slush and the black ice was now only covered by centimeters of snow.
We are happy that HQ Powerkites supported us again this year. The HQ team will also be on site.

Two successful days of competing in the disciplines Long Distance Race, Freestyle and Race lie behind us. On the third and final day of the Int. Snowkite Open three more races could be started. During the morning the weather was still okay with heavy clouds, but after the third race the competition was canceled due to the emerging bad weather.
The second day of Int. Snowkite Open started with heavy clouds and light snowfall. But it was enough wind for race and that's what counts. The starting field with 52 riders from 6 nations battled for the European Championship title in Race. Four races with two laps each were held before the freestylers could compete in the afternoon.
Gorgeous sunshine expected the 41 participants from five nations on the first day of Int. Snowkite Championship at Lake Reschen. While the riders registered for the event, light winds were blowing from the North, but shortly before the competition it went down. The riders were therefore set to enjoy the sun and relax before the long distance race could be started. But the wind didn’t let the participants wait for too long. Shortly after the wind turned south and thermal wind promised a good race.

Again, the best conditions on Day 2 of the Snowkite Open 2015. After the skippers meeting was started with freestyle in the categories Men / snowboard and men / ski. Then 8 races could be run.
Among them there were really exciting races, so that a photo finish was only able to determine the winner. Since the evaluation takes a little more time, we can give early known the results of
the race tomorrow.
